Extreme H Celebrates FOX Suspension Partnership

London, 9 July 2025: Extreme H, the world’s first hydrogen-powered racing series, has announced a multi-year partnership with Fox Factory, Inc. (“FOX”), the leading suspension manufacturer, as its Official Suspension Partner.

Building on their experience from Extreme E, FOX will equip all Pioneer 25 race cars with a next-generation suspension package, designed specifically to meet the demands of Extreme H’s unique and challenging off-road environments.

“We are thrilled to officially welcome FOX to the Extreme H family after three years of close collaboration in Extreme E.” said James Taylor, Chief Championship Officer, Extreme H, “Throughout that time, we’ve developed a strong technical partnership and gathered valuable insights that have directly shaped the new suspension package for the Pioneer 25. FOX’s off-road expertise and commitment to innovation have been instrumental in pushing performance forward, and their technology is a perfect fit for our mission to lead sustainable racing into the future.”

The new system, which has been tested extensively together with FOX, features a coil-over and external bypass setup on all four corners, totalling eight dampers per car. Notable upgrades from Extreme E include the addition of a secondary external bypass damper on the front axle, larger 3.0” bypass dampers across all corners (up from 2.5” in the Extreme E rear), and an approximate 70mm increase in wheel travel. These enhancements offer teams significantly improved performance, control, and durability across the extreme terrains that define the series.

At the heart of the new package is FOX Live Valve – a cutting-edge electronic, semi-active damping technology that continuously and intelligently adjusts damping in real time based on sensor inputs.  This greatly improves ride dynamics by mitigating brake dive, acceleration squat, body roll, and delivers smoother landings during jumps. Drivers will also be able to select from multiple preset modes to tailor handling to specific course conditions, with future flexibility to expand tuning parameters.

FOX will also provide on-site support at each event, including diagnostics, shock repairs, and set-up guidance tailored to each unique race location.

“Extreme H gives us the opportunity to work alongside world-class racers and teams who are shaping the future of motorsport." said Bobby Smith, FOX Director of Motorsports. “As the automotive industry evolves toward electrification and hydrogen, we’re excited to be part of this transition, delivering the performance and control that FOX is known for, now in an entirely new era of racing.”

Extreme H will make history as the first hydrogen racing championship when it launches later this year. Event locations and dates will be announced shortly.
